America Movil (NYS: AMX) reported earnings on Feb. 13. Here are the numbers you need to know.

For the quarter ended Dec. 31 (Q4), America Movil beat expectations on revenues and missed expectations on earnings per share.
Compared to the prior-year quarter, revenue contracted slightly and GAAP earnings per share shrank.
Gross margins shrank, operating margins increased, net margins dropped.
America Movil recorded revenue of $13.05 billion. The eight analysts polled by S&P Capital IQ predicted net sales of $12.33 billion on the same basis. GAAP reported sales were 0.5% lower than the prior-year quarter's $13.12 billion.

Non-GAAP EPS came in at $0.32. The 10 earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ predicted $0.50 per share on the same basis. GAAP EPS of $0.02 for Q4 were 33% lower than the prior-year quarter's $0.03 per share.

For the quarter, gross margin was 53.9%, 3,230 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 21.1%, 230 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 8.9%, 620 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter.
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $13.52 billion. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.47.
Next year's average estimate for revenue is $55.60 billion. The average EPS estimate is $2.08.
The stock has a four-star rating (out of five) at Motley Fool CAPS, with 1,689 members out of 1,720 rating the stock outperform, and 31 members rating it underperform. Among 478 CAPS All-Star picks (recommendations by the highest-ranked CAPS members), 473 give America Movil a green thumbs-up, and five give it a red thumbs-down.
