The Gory Details on AU Optronics's Double Miss

Non-GAAP EPS came in at -$0.77. The one earnings estimate compiled by S&P Capital IQ anticipated -$0.50 per share on the same basis. GAAP EPS were -$0.08 for Q4 compared to -$0.05 per share for the prior-year quarter.

For the quarter, gross margin was -11.5%, 710 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was -19.5%, 850 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was -23.1%, 1,190 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter.
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $2.97 billion. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is -$0.44.
Next year's average estimate for revenue is $13.65 billion. The average EPS estimate is -$1.08.
