If readers need any more reason to download this game, then we're simply out of ideas. Jetpack Joyride by Fruit Ninja creator Halfbrick has surpassed 13 million downloads since going free-to-play (F2P). (Here's your validation for all of those studies and statistics.) The endless runner (flier?) in vein of hits like Robot Unicorn Attack and Canabalt has garnered several award nominations, including nods from both the Game Developer's Choice Awards and the Interactive Achievement Awards.

Not to mention it's been a favorite in the games media since its launch in summer 2011, inspiring game of the year nods from several websites. In fact, we loved it so much that it made our Top 10 Free iPhone and iPad Games of 2011 list. And get this: At the time, it was only free thanks to a promotion. While Jetpack Joyride is worth more than the $.99 it used to cost, you officially have no excuse for not trying this game.

Actually, you couldn't pick a better time to begin your joyride with protagonist Barry Steakfries, as we're told Halfbrick plans to release the biggest update for Jetpack Joyride to date next month. With that, we're sure Jetpack Joyride will hold you over until that long-awaited Fruit Ninja sequel hits. You know, the one Halfbrick plans to build a whole studio for?
