House of the Day: Spacious but Cozy in Hamptons Bay

Updated

Let's face it, many of the houses in the Hamptons are beautiful. Nothing new to report there. But we love this particular home because, while it's Southampton-flashy on the outside, on the inside it reminds us of a little English cottage.

From the quaint vintage-style interior decor, classic wicker lounge furniture with quilted pillows, wood-burning fireplaces, and even an entire bedroom decked out floor-to-ceiling in very cottage-like wooden boards, this 3,414-square-foot home has a warm, country charm that most swanky Hamptons mansions lack.

Apart from its coziness, this six-bedroom, three-bathroom "authentic traditional" home in the Hamptons also boasts an acre of Great Peconic Bay frontage and its own private entrance leading down to the shore. Located high on a bluff, you can enjoy magnificent south-facing waterfront views over the bay to Robin's Island from the home's beautiful, wood-shingled wrap-around porch.

A setting so stunning, it was the location of the award-winning 2010 indie film, "Kisses, Chloe."

Christine Sullivan and Deirdre Devita of Brown Harris Stevens have the listing.
