CityVille Sam's Love Story: Everything you need to know

Sam, the mascot of CityVille, is looking for a bit of romance this Valentine's Day, and you can help her achieve that goal through a series of new goals that have launched in the game. This Sam's Love Story event is split into three separate sections, or Acts, with each Act being dedicated to a different man that Sam will date. The first is an artist, the second an adventurer, and the third is the classic, hopeless romantic.

Each section of the event is split into three goals, so there are nine to complete in all. The first section, dealing with the artist, brings Enrique Iglesias back to the game, as he apparently wants to date Sam.

Enrique Iglesias!

  • Complete Culture House

  • Upgrade Natural History Museum to Level 2

  • Collect 25 Dance Lessons


You'll have a chance of randomly receiving Dance Lessons when collecting from your Dance Studio. Meanwhile, the Culture House takes 10 energy to build and then requires you to collect several building ingredients to finish it off:

  • 8 Gold Paint

  • 8 Gold Statue

  • 8 Boxes of Nails

  • 8 Floor Tiles

  • 8 Gold Roof Tiles


These items are earned through a combination of general news posts on your wall and individual requests sent to friends. For finishing this goal, you'll receive the automatic update to the Level 2 Cultural House. This building offers 1,000 population to your town, so you'll want to take the time to build if it land space is an issue in your game.

Working for Romance

  • Ask friends for 20 Book Recommendations

  • Collect 25 Magazines from any Library

  • Harvest 60 Cabernet Sauvignon Grapes


Finishing this goal allows you to upgrade your Cultural House to Level 3.

Artistic License

  • Collect 3 Art Pieces from a Museum

  • Upgrade Dance Studio to Level 2

  • Collect 3 Chess Sets from High Society Collection


The High Society Collection items can be earned by collecting from large mansions or chalets. When you finish this final step in Enrique's trio of goals, you'll receive the upgrade to the Level 4 Cultural House.

The Adventurer:

Mr Adventure!

  • Complete Adventure House

  • Upgrade City Dojo to Level 2

  • Harvest 30 Artichoke


The Adventure House is a home with a maximum population of 900 citizens, that must be built by collecting building materials: six each of Green Paint, Wood, Green Tiles, Planters and Wooden Supports. Completing this goal gives you the upgrade to the Level 2 Adventure House.

Young at Heart

  • Ask friends for 15 Paintballs

  • Harvest 12 Shipping Routes from Rio

  • Collect 30 Energy Bars


Energy Bars can be earned by collecting from City Supermarkets. Finishing this goal gives you the Level 3 Adventure House upgrade.

Risk It All!

  • Collect from Reverse Bungee Twice

  • Collect 5 Jet Skis from Jet Ski Shop

  • Collect 25 Karaoke Songs


Karaoke Songs are earned by collecting from Pool Halls or Taverns. Meanwhile, the Reverse Bungee is an attraction that you can find the guide to building right here. When you complete this goal, you'll receive the Level 4 Adventure House upgrade and will finish Sam's time with Mr. Adventure.


Mr. Traditional:

Mr. Tradition!

  • Complete Ice Skating Rink

  • Harvest 20 Pink Roses

  • Collect 10 Dress Shoes


The Dress Shoes come from collecting profits at the Shoe Store. Meanwhile, the Ice Skating Rink is a new community building that raises your maximum population cap by 450 citizens and requires 10 friends to come staff the building to complete it. For finishing this first goal, you'll receive the upgrade to the Level 2 Ice Skating Rink.

Banking on It!

  • Ask friends for 12 Dating Tips

  • Harvest Bank 3 Times

  • Collect 15 Colognes


Colognes come from the Cosmetic Store or Perfume Shop. For finishing this goal, you'll receive the Level 3 Ice Skating Rink upgrade.

Dinner & a Movie!

  • Upgrade Italian Restaurant to Level 2

  • Collect 20 Popcorn Buckets

  • Collect from Flower Kiosk 5 Times


The Popcorn Buckets come from collecting from the Cinema, or you can also ask your friends to receive them. Finishing this final goal ends Sam's time with Mr. Traditional, and it also rewards you with the upgrade to the Level 4 Ice Skating Rink.

Since this is a fairly far-reaching event in the game, I'd suspect that we might see some smaller Valentine's Day content release in the game as well (perhaps some themed content in the store). If that ends up being the case, we'll make sure to let you know.
