Spectra Energy (NYS: SE) reported earnings on Feb. 2. Here are the numbers you need to know.

EPS came in at $0.44. The 11 earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ anticipated $0.49 per share. GAAP EPS of $0.44 for Q4 were 10% lower than the prior-year quarter's $0.49 per share.

Margin details
For the quarter, gross margin was 31.0%, 2,560 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 31.0%, 440 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 20.2%, 290 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter.
