As the saying goes: "There's nothing like signing on a bunch of major companies to help make up for lost time" ... or something like that. Japanese mobile social game company GREE announced that it has signed partnerships with a number of major tech companies to ensure that the launch of its upcoming global mobile social games platform goes as smoothly as possible.

The most notable of companies that GREE has signed on are Microsoft Japan and Amazon Japan, both of which have agreed to provide the upcoming platform with server-side infrastructure support. In English, both Microsoft and Amazon's Japanese arms will help make sure that GREE 's mobile social games network will run like butter, that is lag-free and without crashes. But these are just two of numerous partners that the company has signed on to help. (We counted 17 in all.)

Companies like Digital Hearts and Katalyst Lab (both Japan-based) will help with localization, or ensuring that GREE's platform supports multiple languages. Along with Digital Hearts, Poletowin Pitcrew Holdings and VeriServe Corporation (also Japan-based) will provide debugging support, or making sure the mobile social games network is glitch-free. Finally, BELLSYSTEM24, E-Guardian (in Japan, too) and three more companies will join Poletowin Pitcrew Holdings in providing player support.

We're sensing a trend here that, for a company looking to reach the globe with its mobile social games network, is slightly disconcerting. At any rate, this is basically GREE's way of saying, "We're a'comin'!" to all of you mobile gamers out there. So, sit tight, and grab us some popcorn while you're at it.

Are you patiently awaiting GREE's game network, or are you already satisfied with something else? Do you think GREE will be able to compete with DeNA and the others once it launches? Sound off in the comments. Add Comment.
