Tiny Tower developer NimbleBit responds to Zynga's Dream Heights, isn't pleased

Updated

Well, that didn't take long. Just hours after Zynga quietly launched Dream Heights for iOS on the Canadian iTunes store, Ian Marsh, co-owner of NimbleBit (creator of Tiny Tower), responded with a open letter to Zynga on his personal Twitter account, thanking the Big Z for being such fans of Tiny Tower that they decided to make a version of their own.

Making this even more interesting is the fact that we've now learned that Zynga tried to acquire Nimblebit at an undisclosed time in the past. Marsh says (via his Twitter): "[Zynga] did go the honest route and try to acquire us first." If we take this at face value, it looks like Zynga tried to acquire Tiny Tower for itself, but when the offer was declined, decided to create its own version, changing very little in the process and thus triggering NimbleBit's wrath. Ah, who doesn't love a good soap opera?

Marsh even went so far as to post comparison screenshots in his letter, which you can see below. Will Zynga respond? We'll make sure to let you know if and when it does, so keep checking back.

Will you play Zynga's Dream Heights, even though the game was almost entirely inspired by Tiny Tower? Let us know in the comments.
