CastleVille Hazel Introduction Quests: Everything you need to know
An evil icy witch has come to CastleVille. Her name is Hazel and she comes with a series of new quests given to you by the Duke. There are eight quests to complete in total, with one being a preface to the entire event (that is, it's required to complete before you can access these quests, but it actually isn't part of the Hazel quest line). Let's get started on our look at these new quests!
Oh, Hail
Explore the Gloomy Area with the Icy Tornado
If you look over the river to the NE of your kingdom, you'll see an animated icy tornado spinning on a land expansion. This Expansion requires you to have at least 380 Castle Level, 12 Expansion Crystals and 75,000 coins to unlock. Once you have all of that, you'll of course receive this land expansion, but will also finish the quest and earn 500 coins and 10 XP.
Melt with You
Have 3 Dragon's Breath
Use Dragon's Breath to Melt Icy Totem
The Dragon's Breath can be earned by asking your friends to send it to you, or you can earn some at random by fishing. For finishing this quest, you'll receive another 500 coins, a Witch Crossing Sign and 10 XP.
Ice to Meet You
Have 1 Ice Pick
Break the Gloom Thief from the Ice Prison
You'll need to use your Ice Pick (craft one in the Workshop using seven Wood, two Stone Blocks and five Ice Chunks) to break the ice holding the Gloom Thief. The Ice Chunks come from chopping icy items in that new expansion you unlocked earlier. When you finish this quest, you'll earn 1,000 coins and 20 XP.
Freeze!
Banish Gloom Thief
Have 7 Mystery Meat
Craft 1 Brick Oven
The Brick Oven is crafted within your Workshop using two Stone Blocks, two Wood Planks and five Reputation Hearts. The Mystery Meat, meanwhile, comes from asking friends to send them to you. You'll receive Hazel's Diary for tackling the Gloom Thief once and for all.
Gate Crashing
Have a Master Ice Pick
Destroy the Icy Gate
The Master Ice Pick is crafted in your workshop using a regular Ice Pick, two Iron Ores, five All Purpose Polishes and 10 Ice Chunks. It takes just two hours to craft and can then be used to destroy the Icy Gate at the far edge of your new land expansion. For finishing this quest, you'll receive 500 coins, 10 XP and a Witchy Scarecrow for your kingdom.
On Thin Ice
Expand to Area with Witch and Castle
Just past the Icy Gate is a border to another expansion, where you can see Hazel waiting in the shadows and gloom. You'll need to have at least 800 castle level to unlock that expansion, but once you do, you'll receive 750 coins and 15 XP as your reward for finishing this quest.
Frost Bites
Banish 3 Gloom Yetis
Visit 10 Neighbors
Gloom Yeti potions can be purchased from the store for 5 Reputation Hearts, so you won't need many to call out and then banish three. After visiting those 10 neighbors, you'll receive 500 coins and 10 XP as your prizes for finishing this quest.
Chill Out
Craft 1 Totem Bane
Destroy the Witch's Final Totem of Ice
The Totem Bane is crafted inside your Workshop, but you must also have a Kitchen in your kingdom to unlock the recipe. Eithe way, the recipe won't actually show up until you've made it this far into the quest series. Activate this Totem Bane and then destroy the Totem of Ice in the land expansion you unlocked before. When you complete this final quest in the series, you'll receive 1,000 coins, 20 XP and a Witch's Hat for your avatar.
After this, another set of quests will launch in the game, introducing you to Hazel herself - her personality, her likes and dislikes, those sorts of things. We'll being you a complete guide to finishing those just as soon as we can.
