News of potential credit downgrades in Europe has pushed the markets down today. Just before 12:30 p.m. EST, the Dow Jones Industrials (INDEX: ^DJI) were down 110 points to 12,360, while the S&P 500 (INDEX: ^GSPC) fell 12 points to 1,283.
But amid the declines, some stocks were moving upward. Let's take a look at the only gainers on the Dow so far today.
Caterpillar (NYS: CAT) is on the rise, up $0.18 to $102.12, after Barclays raised its price target from $115 to $128. While the stock finished 2011 basically unchanged, falling just 3%, performance-wise the company had a good year.
