"Give a man a fish and you feed him for the day," the old Chinese proverb goes. "Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime."
Well what if you give a man a whole fishing compound? Professional angler or not, we're sure he'll still get a lifetime's worth of seafood, one way or another.
The $12.9 million estate affectionately known as the "Fish Camp" estate in Marathon, Fla., boasts one very rare feature that few (if any) other Florida mansions are lucky enough to have -- its own private fishing compound. Surrounded by water on three sides, with over 190-foot-deep water dockage and direct ocean access to the Atlantic ocean, the estate is nothing short of a fisherman's glam paradise.
But wait, there's more: apart from the standard eight-bedroom, 10-bathroom offerings of a typical Florida manse, the sprawling, 11,674-square-foot main house features a theater, bar, entertaining room, pool with spa and waterfall, a tennis court and a chef's kitchen that would make Jamie Oliver proud.
That proverb should really say something about teaching a man to cook, too.
