House of the Day: Love's Loss Is Upscale Market's Gain
J.Crew creative director Jenna Lyons' chic townhouse in Park Slope, Brooklyn, dropped on to the market recently to the tune of $3.75 million, report our friends at Curbed.com. The high ask marks a sharp price hike from the $1.3 million that Lyons and her husband paid for the digs back in 2004. That makes sense: The couple, both artists, conducted extensive renovations on the upscale Brooklyn dwelling over the years.
Dating back to the 1880s, the four-story townhouse bears the marks of its Gilded Age beginnings in its aged-pine floors and plaster cornices, but offers the full array of modern conveniences, like brand-spanking-new electronics, plumbing and state-of-the-art appliances. Previously featured in the now-defunct real estate magazine Domino in 2008, the home offers seven bedrooms and 3½ bathrooms, a generous terrace off the master bedroom and a media room. Special features include its double parlor, seven limestone mantels and fully landscaped rear garden.
Jeremy V. Stein and Robin Stein of Sotheby's International Realty New York City have the listing.
