Is the Kindle Fire the new hotness in social gaming?
When Amazon's Kindle Fire arrives on November 15, you will be able to read books, surf the web and have easy access to "several thousand" mobile and social games including Zynga's Words with Friends.
"Teaming with Amazon to make Words With Friends a featured game on the Kindle Fire provides us with a great way to reach new and existing players on a fresh and exciting device," Zynga chief mobile officer David Ko says.
The $199 device will plug into Amazon's App store (rather than the Android app store), so the big A has been doing double-time to make sure that some of the more popular mobile games, such as Words, Angry Birds, Fruit Ninja, Plants vs. Zombies, Peggle and Cut the Rope, will be ready to play once people have the Fire in hand.
FarmVille, CityVIlle Hometown or Mafia Wars apps are not currently available in the Amazon app store, so it's hard to say what plans - if any -- Zynga has to bring those games to Amazon's hot new tablet.
