Pioneer Trail Gravy Train Meals: Everything you need to know

Updated

This week, Thanksgiving has come to the Pioneer Trail on Facebook in a big, big way. With the launch of the Gravy Train, meal crafting and Thanksgiving Feast goals, we've seen the game give us a chance to do our part of giving back to the community. Ok, so you're giving back to virtual characters that don't really exist, but we'll try not to think about it like that.

As we've told you in our guide to the Thanksgiving Feast goals, this Gravy Train feature is about far more than just harvesting some themed crops (although that's required too). You'll also be required to create five meals, or care packages, for five families within your game, with these items being earned through either gift requests and friends, or by crafting them within the Gravy Train itself. Here's a complete look at the four meals you'll need to prepare, and how you can do just that.

Hank and Fanny

  • 1 Corn Chowder

  • 1 Cajun Peas

  • 7 Gravy Boats

  • 6 Dinner Plates

First things first: the Gravy Boats can be earned via individual requests sent your neighbors, while the Dinner Plates are earned through a general news post you'll place on your wall. As for the Corn Chowder and Cajun Peas, these are crafting items, being made inside the Gravy Train.

Corn Chowder

  • 4 Corn Kernels (tend Corn or Super Corn)

  • 2 Ceramic Bowls (ask friends)

Cajun Peas

  • 4 Peas (tend Peas)

  • 2 Cajun Seasonings (ask friends)

McBaggins

  • 13 Napkin Holders

  • 4 Buckets O' Sugar

  • 2 Corn Chowder

  • 1 Spiced Pumpkin Pie

  • 1 Smooshed Potatoes

  • 4 Dinner Plates

The Dinner Plates, Napkin Holders and Buckets O'Sugar are earned through various types of requests sent out to friends. The Corn Chowder has the same recipe as that above, while the other two are crafted inside the Gravy Train as well.

Spiced Pumpkin Pie

  • 1 Pumpkin Filling (crafted)

  • 3 Pumpkin Pie Tin (ask friends)

Pumpkin Filling

  • 6 Ripe Pumpkins (tend Pumpkins)

  • 3 Nutmeg (ask friends)

Smooshed Potatoes

  • 3 Large Potatoes (tend Potatoes or Super Potatoes)

  • 4 Potato Mashers (ask friends)

McDinkles

  • 12 Napkin Holders

  • 3 Cajun Peas

  • 2 Peppered Mashed Potatoes

  • 5 Stuffing

  • 8 Buckets O'Sugar

  • 8 Dinner Plates

Once again, the Dinner Plates, Napkin Holders and Buckets O' Sugar are earned from friends, while the other three food items are earned by crafting.

Peppered Mashed Potatoes

  • 1 Smooshed Potatoes (crafted; see above)

  • 4 Creamy Butter (ask friends)

Stuffing

  • 5 Bread Crumbs (tend Wheat or Super Wheat)

  • 5 Stuffin' Spices (ask friends)

Burtons

  • 14 Napkin Holders

  • 2 Peppered Mashed Potatoes

  • 3 Stuffed Turkeys

  • 3 Spiced Pumpkin Pies

  • 8 Buckets O'Sugar

  • 14 Gravy Boats

Here, we see the Dinner Plates being replaced by Gravy Boats, but the rules remain the same: The Napkin Holders, Buckets O'Sugar and now Gravy Boats are earned by asking your friends to send them to you, while the other three food items are crafted.

Stuffed Turkey

  • 1 Stuffing (crafted; see above)

  • 5 Roasted Turkeys (ask friends)

Laughing Bear

  • 8 Buckets O'Sugar

  • 4 Stuffed Turkeys

  • 3 Peppered Mashed Potatoes

  • 2 Spiced Pumpkin Pies

  • 15 Place Mats

  • 15 Gravy Boats

Here, another substitution has happened in the request items, as you're left asking for Buckets O' Sugar, Gravy Boats and now Place Mats from your friends. As for the cooking tasks, you're looking at a bunch of repeated dishes from previous meals, all of which are crafted as we've explained above.

If you notice, these meals have become increasingly difficult and time-consuming as they've gone on, so by this point, you'll have more than enough work on your plate (no pun intended) to last you quite a while. Good luck!
