House of the Day: Just Bring the Popcorn

Updated

There are man caves and then there are man caves. This oceanfront La Jolla homehas the mother of all man caves: a 27-seat home theater with 10 screens so that you can watch simultaneous sporting events without switching channels. The home theater cost $1 million, according to the listing and has a state-of-the-art sound system. There is also a sports bar.

The price is listed as "$15,999,999 to $18 million," which is a marketing technique that listing agents in San Diego County famously do all the time -- provide a price range and ignore the fact that buyers are only going to see the lower number anyway.

The Italian Renaissance-style 8,400-square-foot house has more than 150 feet of oceanfront, but we guess some people prefer watching TV to the waves. There are five bedrooms and the property sits on a bluff above the Pacific. It has an outdoor entertainment area that includes a five-hole putting green.
