Will Empires & Allies, Zynga's flagship strategy game, will finally go "hardcore?" According to recently leaked images (captured by Empires And Allies Base), that may very well be the case. Zynga teased the upcoming War Room feature a little over a week ago as the game's push into global PvP (player vs player) battles, but provided zero imagery.
Now, we know exactly what this War Room might look like, and it appears to be a building through which we'll conduct all of our global invasion operations. (Doesn't it look like a giant videogame?)
In fact, you'll notice upon logging into the game that the icon featured in the image pictured right is already in the game, though it's grayed out and doesn't respond to clicks. That's probably a good sign that this feature will come sooner rather than later.
However, the new War Room feature will not only allow us to attack players' empires regardless of whether they're Facebook friends, it might introduce a new leaderboard to the game, complete with nifty trophies. The trophies, which come in gold, silver and bronze globes, imply that players will place in ... something. Perhaps this feature will reign in a weekly tournament system of sorts, rewarding players who come out on top compared with players around the world. The more we hear about the War Room, the more excited we are to
be annihilated crush folks around the world.
