There are certain sites of hallowed ground when it comes to properties in Los Angeles and this is one of them. The land was once owned by Ronald Reagan (who lived next door and bought this lot for privacy). And later, with a house built on the lot, actor Richard Gere (pictured at left) bought it when it was being leased to singer-songwriter Bob Dylan.

Today, it's being sold by no one that the tabloids would care about, so we'll just focus on the drop-dead jetliner views of the city and ocean and state-of-the-art everything. Listed at $9,975,000, the contemporary gated estate has three bedroom suites and six bathrooms and is as much a resort as it is a house. There is a two-story entry with gallery and bar. The private master-bedroom suite has its own secluded sundeck. There is a top-of-the-line home theater with powder room.
