Robert DeNiro Selling Village Townhouse

Updated

Nothing like keeping it in the family. Actor Robert DeNiro has listed the West Village townhouse he's owned for more than 30 years for $14 million. And the listing agent is none other than his son, Raphael.

But don't call it nepotism; Raphael DeNiro has become New York's Golden Boy of the Real Estate Recession. He is described by developers as the "go-to" broker for hard times and hard sales, and runs a five-person team (which includes his wife and some DeNiro cousins) in the Prudential Douglas Elliman empire. And as he aptly puts it, "No one is buying a $10 million apartment because my dad is Robert DeNiro."

We suspect that the Academy Award-winning actor picked the best man for the job, although in this case, the historic building that sits on tree-lined St. Luke's Place ("New York City's most beautiful townhouse block," according to the listing) may not be such an uphill sales battle. It's a stunner in a choice location.

The 22-foot-wide Italianate townhouse has five bedrooms, three-and-a-half baths and 12-foot ceilings. And for us, a "Robert DeNiro slept here" plaque would be the deal-cincher.
