FarmVille Parisian items celebrate a happy Bastille Day

Updated

Ok, so Bastille Day may not actually be until July 14, but FarmVille is celebrating this French holiday early with the release of a small Parisian theme of items in the market. If you're unfamiliar with Bastille Day, it celebrates the storming of the Bastille (a French prison) and the start of the French Revolution. But for our purposes, it signifies a set of cheery new trees, animals, buildings and decorations being available in the game's store!

These items may have been released on an "off" update day (remember, Zynga normally pushes out updates on Wednesday and Sunday), but they'll all be available in the store for the full two-week time limit. Here's what's available:

Trees:

Holly Oak Tree - 5 Farm Cash
Cork Oak Tree - 10 Farm Cash

As you might have guessed, the Holly Oak Tree spawns Cork Oak Trees from Mystery Seedlings, so feel free to skip out on purchasing this more expensive tree in favor of finding one for free.

Animals:

French Flag Sheep - 20 Farm Cash

Remember, since this cute little sheep isn't labeled specifically as a Ram, that means the flag pattern is for this sheep only, rather than something that can be passed on to Lambs.

Buildings:

Le Bistro - 42 Farm Cash

Unfortunately, there's no sale price in effect here. The price is a high one, and it's as simple as that.

Decorations:

French Balloon Arch - 20,000 coins
Parisian Waiter - 15 Farm Cash
Fleur de Lis - 12 Farm Cash

For these items, the Parisian Waiter is actually a new gnome, while the Fleur de Lis is a new fountain (and quite a lovely one, at that). Unfortunately, the French Balloon Arch is the only item available for those on a budget, but at least the Fleur de Lis fountain (my personal favorite of this release) isn't overly expensive, considering just how pretty it actually is.

Either way, it will be interesting to see if this spontaneously released theme receives more items in tomorrow's expected store update, and you can be sure we'll let you know if it does.

Would you be disappointed if these were the only Parisian items released in this theme? What other French-themed items do you think Zynga should release in honor of Bastille Day? Sound off in the comments.
