'Law & Order's' Munch in a Housing Crunch?

Updated

It used to be that most Hollywood actors agreed to press interviews when they had a new project to promote. Now there is a new reason: They have a house to sell.

Take Richard Belzer, who plays Detective John Munch on "Law & Order: SVU." In real life, he plays one of the hapless home sellers who already has lowered the price of his Riverside Drive home by a whole bunch to no avail.

Put on the market in the spring at $3,195,000 and now listed at $2.9 million, the perpetually black-clad Belzer said in an interview in this week'sNew York magazine that he hopes to shrink his footprint, which is 2011-speak for downsizing and trying to get out of a really big mortgage on a home that likely isn't worth what it used to be (since none of them are). The unit is a multi-apartment combination that sounds like it needs finishing, but has space for four bedrooms and plumbing for three and a half baths.
