Supreme Court Ruling Is Big Win for Video Game Industry

Updated

In a 7-2 ruling, the Supreme Court granted the video game industry some serious leeway Monday, striking down California's ban on the sale of violent video games to minors. The ruling certainly hit home for me. As I have previously written, my own children and I constantly deal with the issue of which games are appropriate. The premise of my in-house rules about what is and isn't fair game is the same one tripping up the courts: are the games inherently damaging? That debate is ongoing on both fronts.

For more insight on the ramifications of the ruling on the video game industry, I touched base with Bianca Bosker, Tech Editor of The Huffington Post.
