Boeing 787 Dreamliner Lands In Warsaw
The next generation of airplane, Boeing's 787 Dreamliner, made it first landing at Warsaw's Frederic Chopin airport on Friday.
Hundreds of spectators lined the runway to watch the Dreamliner make its first landing. The plane came directly to Warsaw from the Paris Air Show (where AOL Travel got a look inside the new 747-8).
Polish airline LOT was Europe's first to purchase the plane, and the first plane is expected to be delivered in mid-April 2012, the Associated Press reports.
The Dreamliner is expected to be a fuel- and cost-efficient jet due to the craft's advanced aerodynamics, modern engines and electric systems. Yet the real appeal of the Dreamliner is its long-range capability, despite its smaller size. The reduced size is expected to open up new non-stop routes around the world.
