Home Prices: Back to the Future?

home pricesEverything costs more than it used to, right? Well, make that everything but our homes. Our friends at Estately.com came up with this nifty graphic that takes us "Back to the Future" in housing prices.

With home values reaching back -- at least in Detroit -- to 1994, it has us shaking our piggy banks to see what we can afford. And, we can't resist asking (with apologies to Prince): Are you ready to (house) party like it was 1999?

The values were taken from Standard & Poor's/Case-Shiller Home indices; the average home prices were provided by the National Association of Realtors and reflect first quarter 2011 area prices. How far back does your city's home prices fall?
