Funny-man and Chicano art collector Cheech Marin has listed his Malibu beach home for $5,995,000. Marin may be best-known as half of the Cheech and Chong comedy duo that were headliners in the 1970s, and as Don Johnson's partner, Inspector Joe Dominguez on "Nash Bridges." Cheech, whose name is derived from chicharron, a spicy fried-pork-skin snack, is among the top collectors of Mexican and Mexican-American art and been a large supporter of Chicano art on the West Coast.

The beachfront house he is selling was designed by Robert Gilbert and built in 1929. It has a low-bluff location with 120 feet of sandy beachfront. There is a three-bedroom main house with one-of-a-kind custom woodwork throughout.

The open-area great room features floor to ceiling glass doors that provide magnificent views of the Pacific Ocean. There are high beamed ceilings and lots of unique features, including a flagstone patio deck.

The property has a detached three-bedroom guesthouse with a gym and music room. The master bedroom suite has custom stained-glass bay windows and tile work, a built-in window seat, spa tub and steam shower, and a large walk-in closet. The property has rose and succulent gardens.

Cheech and Chong made movies together; "Up in Smoke" was the highest grossing comedy of 1978, topping $100 million at the box office. After the duo split up, Marin continued acting and has appeared in more than 20 films, including playing Kevin Costner's caddy in "Tin Cup" in 1996.

Irene Dazzan-Palmer and Sandro Dazzan of Coldwell Banker, Malibu Colony office, have the listing, according to the MLS.
