House of the Day: Colorado Horse Ranch Lists at $13.9M
The Round Mountain Ranch in Steamboat Springs, Colo., gets our vote for most improved ranch of the day. Throughout the years this property has had several owners, but credit goes to the current one for having a flair for remodeling.
The property, now on the market at $13.9 million, can accommodate up to 17 people. There is a 5,126-square-foot main residence, a beautifully restored 460-square-foot river cabin, separate accommodations for guests and staff, as well as barns and a state-of-the-art horse arena.
The layout of the ranch ensures privacy and special kudos go to the equestrian facilities.
About 1.32 miles of the famed Elk River runs through the ranch. The cabin is within a stone's throw of the river. The 1.5-story owner's home has three bedrooms, three stone fireplaces, paneled wood ceilings, a log exterior and a two-car garage. There is a detached two-story log manager's house with 4,000 square feet that includes four bedrooms and a 10 x 20 covered deck.
Other structures on the ranch include a two-bedroom, 1,200-square-foot guest house and a 900-square-foot guest quarters. There are also two smaller cabins.
The property has a five-stall horse barn with automatic water, outdoor runs and feed managers. There is a heated 100' x 120' indoor arena with lights. There is also a large outdoor arena with viewing gazebo plus a cow barn.
