Osama Bin Laden Dead: World's Biggest Terrorist Now A Tourist Spectacle
It's been less than a week since President Obama announced the death of Osama bin Laden, yet already the town of Abbottabad is thinking of cashing in and making it a macabre tourist attraction.
Local townsman Ali Abbas is leading the charge to make the compound an official tourist site.
Abbas told the Daily Mail: "Westerners are crazy people. Even if locals turn up or not, foreigners will definitely come if it is declared a tourist site. It will be very good for the city. People should visit and see where the world's biggest terrorist lived. They will come when the security situation gets a little better, but it must first be declared a tourist place."
Already locals and nearby villagers are coming to the compound to see the place bin Laden called home. There have been countless photographs of children and families gawking at the compound.
In related news, Yu Garden, the kitsch capital of Shanghai, has started selling figurines of President Obama and Osama bin Laden to eager tourists willing to grab their piece of history, CNNGo reports.
The figurines are a popular item, though reportedly not as popular are the "Bin Laden Killed: End of Terror" shirts being sold nearby.
