Mafia Wars joins Alabama tornado relief effort with Disaster Relief Truck

After Zynga fans demanded that the company respond to the tornado disaster in six southern states last week, it has teamed up with Direct Relief International to bring a more exciting donation option to Mafia Wars. Digital mobsters can now donate to the cause through buying a Disaster Relief Truck in the game's marketplace for 35 Reward Points.

That amounts to about a $7 donation, 100 percent of which will go directly to the victims of the tornadoes, according to the Mafia Wars Blog. Better yet, the vehicle packs an impressive 112 Attack and 70 Defense. Just yesterday, the company provided a link to donate to the tornado victims through Save the Children. You asked for more ways to contribute through Zynga, and here they've started to emerge. Now, you have no excuse but to make a contribution, so get to it already.
