PlayFirst shutters Chocolatier: Sweet Society on Facebook; offers game sale as apology

Updated

Chocolatier: Sweet Society

had some of the best artwork on Facebook, at least in my humble opinion, and was pretty fun to play too, but apparently not everyone thought so. PlayFirst has officially shuttered the game this week, saying on their official blog that they "apologize for any inconvenience this will cause to [their] valued players."

According to the developer, the game was no longer performing at a level that could justify continued support. All PlayFunds associated with the game have now been lost, with PlayFirst not offering any way to transfer the equivalent point value over to Diner Dash, which is disappointing to say the least.

To further heal the hurt caused by the game's closure on Facebook, PlayFirst is offering a special game sale to Sweet Society players. You can now pick up Chocolatier: Decadence by Design, a full download installment in the series for either PC or Mac for just $1.99, down from its original price tag of $9.99 on Big Fish Games. To take advantage of this sale price, simply enter the code ChocoFan at checkout. This offer expires tomorrow, so if you have a sweet tooth for some full-screen chocolate-making goodness, make sure to take advantage of this deal while it's available.

PlayFirst encourages players to try Diner Dash as a way to fill in the gap left behind with this closing. Will you take them up on their suggestion, or will you simply purchase the discounted PC/Mac game and move onto other Facebook games? Let us know in the comments.
