Kids Rule at European Airports
The new so-called super lounge at Terminal 3 at London's Heathrow, set to open this summer, is getting a lot of attention for a number of features aimed at young travelers. A games room with Wii consoles, a movie theater and a karaoke machine are among the highlights designed to make the refrain "Are we there yet? a thing of the past.
The KidsForest Lounge at Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport is another child-friendly facility, complete with treehouses and places for kids to climb and play. Families can wander along Holland Boulevard at Schiphol, sample pancakes in the Dutch Kitchen, sit in giant Blue Delft teacups, watch TV or let infants nap in the Baby Care Lounges.
Meanwhile, at Munich Airport, kids can romp in Kinderland, which is decked out with a climbing tower, oversized LEGO blocks, game consoles arts and crafts area, and a kids' cinema.
