Lasko Recalls Almost 5 Milllion Fans After Reports of Seven Fires

Lasko Products Inc. recalled 4.8 million of its box fans after seven reports of fires, including two in houses and one in a barn, said the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

So far, no one has been hurt, though the fires caused extensive property damage. The safety agency said an electrical failure in the fan motor creates a fire hazard.
