Tiger Woods' Ex Buys Palm Beach Estate Nearby

tiger woodsTiger Woods' ex-wife, Elin Nordegren, recently purchased a 17,178-square-foot home in North Palm Beach, Fla., about 10 minutes from Woods' house on Jupiter Island, as reported on Huffington Post.

Not too unlike Charlie Sheen, who wants his exes Denise Richards and Brooke Mueller living near him so that he can live near his children, Nordegren aimed to purchase a home near her former spouse. The couple's divorce settlement stipulates that the two parents will live in close proximity to each other so that they can both be involved in their children's lives.

The Swedish former supermodel paid $12.25 million for the two-story estate, which was built in 1932 with an inground pool and an elevator, according to property records. It also has a cedar shake roof, and wood and concrete block siding.

The home never made it to the Multiple Listing Service, says area Realtor Jeff Lichtenstein of Illustrated Properties. "Seminole Landing (the subdivision where the home is located) is a very very private club and extremely difficult to get into," he says. "Only a few Seminole Landing homes for sale are on the market at any given time." Currently the most expensive showing in the MLS is a 3,978-square-foot one for $3.1 million, but a 7,728-square-foot home is also available for $5.875 million.

According to property assessor records, Nordegren's new home on Seminole Beach Road was purchased Feb. 3 through the Northern Lights Trust out of Richmond, Va. and has an assessed value of $13,045,562. Property taxes are expected to be about $260,000 annually. The previous owner, Agatha Ulrich, had paid $15.15 million for it in 2002. Ulrich is chairman of the board of Oak Creek, Wisc.-based NDC LLC., a real estate investment company that currently owns and manages approximately one million square feet of commercial property.

Nordegren, who late last year purchased a home in Sweden, is set on making extensive renovations to the 8-bedroom waterfront Florida home. "She's changing the entire house from top to bottom," our sister site Shelterpop reported.
