Plans for UK Harry Potter Studio Tour Unveiled
Warner Bros. announced plans last week for the attraction, located about 20 minutes outside of London at Leavesden Studios, which will allow visitors to see authentic sets and props in the very place that the films were shot, the Daily Mail reports.
Costumes, animatronics and special effects used in the production of all eight Harry Potter movies will be showcased, allowing visitors a unique behind-the-scenes view of movie-making. No theme park rides or anything of the sort will be offered. Instead, a close-up view of the details of a working set will allow fans to see how movie magic is made.
"The tour promises to be one of the most exciting and memorable visitor attractions anywhere in Europe, delivering an experience never before seen by the general public," promised Dan Dark, managing director of the attraction, in a statement.
Among the sets that will no doubt thrill muggles and wanna-be wizards and witches during the three-hour walking tour are the Hogwarts Great Hall and Professor Dumbledore's office, where the Sword of Gryffindor and the Sorting Hat will be housed.
This latest Harry Potter attraction will join others that author J.K. Rowling's immensely popular books have inspired, including Universal's The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando, Fla.
