Visit Orlando Unveils New Website with Booking Engine
Visit Orlando, the city's official tourism website, rolled out the new site today and announced its partnership with Travelocity, allowing vacationers to plan and book a trip on the same page.
"Planning a great vacation can be a challenge, especially when there are so many resources available," said Danielle Courtenay, chief marketing officer for Visit Orlando in a statement.
Visitors can start with the "Trip Ideas Generator" tool, where they can answer a few questions about their group and what activities interest them. A range of customized suggestions is then automatically presented based on their responses.
The "Trip Itinerary Builder" allows a visitor to browse through the site and add accommodations, activities and restaurants to an online itinerary, which he or she can save and then share with others. When plans are finalized, vacationers can then book their flights, hotel and buy tickets to attractions.
The tourism company also launched VisitOrlando.mobi for mobile devices, so tourists can download information such as Orlando parking finders, theme park guides, maps, airport information, restaurants, shopping, hotels and insider guides to iPhones, iPads and other mobile phones.
