WellPet LLC recalled certain lots of its Wellness canned cat food because some lots may not have enough thiamine, also known as Vitamin B1, said the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Wellness cat food is sold nationwide in pet stores including Petco and PetSmart as well as Whole Foods Market, according to the company. Cats fed only the recalled pet food for several weeks run the risk of developing a thiamine deficiency -- symptoms can include decreased appetite, wobbly walking, falling and seizures. Last year, Procter & Gamble Co. recalled some of its Iams canned cat food for the exact same reason.
