Safeway recalled broccoli salad, pasta salad and pre-packed vegetable trays that it sold in 12 states because broccoli in those items may be tainted with listeria, the company said.

The Safeway-brand products were made using fresh broccoli from California's Taylor Farms Pacific and sold in the deli departments of Safeway, Vons, Pavilions and Pak N' Save stores in Arizona, Southern California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nebraska, Southern Nevada, New Mexico, South Dakota, Washington state, Wyoming and Milton-Freewater, Ore., Safeway said.
