The ski house President Gerald Ford built in Vail, Colo., in the 1980s has been on and off the market since August 2008, just a year after its current owners bought the property from the Fords. Now, after slashing the price more than $4 million, it's listed again at $10.99 million. For more commander-in-chief residences, check out AOL Real Estate's presidential homes gallery.

We reported last year that Californian Kevin Hayes bought the home for $6.65 million in 2007 and embarked on a $4 million renovation. He must have been running low on cash because he put the house on the market a year later for $14.9 million before the renovations were complete. Since then, he lowered his price then removed the listing, then completed renovations, relisted it again and lowered it twice before removing it again. Now his $10.99 million price, listed with Sotheby's, would earn him just $340,000 in profit.
