E&J Brandy warned consumers to stop using a stainless steel flask sold in its gift sets after lab tests on brandy stored in the flasks showed it contained lead, the company said in a release through the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

In people, high levels of lead can damage the nervous and reproductive systems as well as the kidneys, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control's Agency for Toxic Substances & Disease Registry. E&J Brandy didn't elaborate on how much lead was found in the brandy, saying only "brandy stored in the flask under certain conditions may show elevated levels of lead."
