Beaded Door Curtains Sold at Target Recalled After Three Kids Hurt

About 79,000 sets of Circo beaded door curtains sold by Target Corp. were recalled after strands wrapped around the necks of three girls, slightly injuring them, said the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

CPSC said children risk being strangled when playing with the pink bead strands and could also get entangled by running or walking through the doorway, which is what happened to the three girls.

In the first case in January 2009, a 9-year-old nearly choked after getting tangled in the beads. Then in January 2010, a 6-year-old suffered minor cuts to her neck after the beads entangled her as she walked through them. Finally, in April 2010, a girl's neck was scratched when the beads swung back behind her father, who had just walked through the doorway, and wrapped around her neck, pulled her off her feet and suspended her in air for moment until she regained footing.
