Le Creuset Recalls Glass Lids That Can Break

Updated

Kitchenware company Le Creuset of America Inc. recalled about 1,800 glass lids after five reports of them breaking while being used, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said.

Le Creuset products are sold at upscale stores and kitchen shops including Williams-Sonoma, Kitchen Kapers, Bloomingdale's, Macy's, Wegmans, and Bed, Bath & Beyond. The CPSC said the recalled lids were sold nationwide.

No one has been hurt by using the lids, sold from October 2010 through January 2011 for $20 each, or $160 when sold as part of a casserole set, the CPSC said. Consumers should stop using the lids and return them to Le Creuset for a full refund.
