FarmVille Scam Alert! Do not click on 'Teacup Pig' News Feed Posts

Teacup Pig Scam
Alright, this is just getting to be ridiculous. Another FarmVille scam has appeared in several players' Facebook News Feeds, according to FarmVille Freak. This time it involves giving away a Teacup Pig for free and is likely the work of the same scam artist who posted similar phony posts like the Knight Steed Foal and Kung Fu Duck. While the initial post looks strikingly similar to the real deal, it's far from legit.

Clicking on the offer will take you to a page that isn't even the real FarmVille, but a page titled "FarmVille Bonus." No such page exists officially through Zynga. This is clearly a ploy by someone looking to get your information for spamming purposes or worse. Whatever you do, do not click on this News Feed post and warn your FarmVille friends about this scam.

Remember, only accept News Feed posts when you are absolutely sure they are legit. Carefully examine these posts before clicking through--poorly drawn graphics and typos are dead giveaways for phony posts. If you've fallen for one before, be sure to scan your computer for malware with virus scanning software and to change your Facebook password and other private information.
