Is this the year you throw the switch on an electric car? If your motivation is green, don't be so quick to jump. The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) recently released its list of the greenest cars and trucks available in the U.S., and the new electricChevrolet Volt finished number 13, behind several conventional gas-burning rides.

The most environmentally-friendly car on the market continues to be the natural-gas powered Honda Civic GX. The new all-electric Nissan Leaf finished second.
