Cosco, Maxi-Cosi and Safety 1st Child Car Seat Recall
Dorel Juvenile Group recalled almost 800,000 child safety seats restraint systems on car seats sold nationwide at stores including Walmart and Costco because the harness locking and release button can sometimes stick and not lock, creating a risk the child isn't secure in the seat, the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration announced.
The Cosco, Maxi-Cosi and Safety 1st restraint systems included in the recall are on certain Alpha Omega, Alpha Omega Elite, OnBoard TS, Mico, Enspira, Prospect, Vantage Point, Priori, Avenue and Uptown brand child safety seats, Terry Emerson, Dorel's quality assurance director said in a letter to NHTSA dated Feb. 10. A total of 794,247 seats are included in the recall. NHTSA lists the restraint systems included in the recall. Those car seat brands are sold nationwide and online in stores including Target and Amazon.com.
