What's the 'Most Romantic' U.S. City?

On the battlefield of love, Greensboro, N.C., and Alexandria, Va, may be about ready to go to war.

Those two cities topped Redbox and Amazon.com's (AMZN) respective lists of most romantic U.S. cities, making this upcoming Valentine's Day a particularly cozy occassion for those locales.

The approximately 250,000 citizens of Greensboro, which is 90 miles northeast of Charlotte, rent the highest percentage of romantic comedies from Redbox's movie-rental kiosks, according to Redbox's poll of almost 700 Redbox customers. La Crosse, Wis., and Tuscaloosa, Ala., came in second and third among Redbox's most romatic cities, according to Redbox, which is owned by Coinstar (CSTR).

Meanwhile, Amazon.com set Alexandria, which is just outside Washington D.C., atop its own most-romantic list. The world's biggest online retailer, which tracked customer purchases such as romance novels on Kindle, sexual-wellness products and, yes, Barry White albums, also put Knoxville, Tenn., Orlando and Miami near the top of its list.

On the other end of the love spectrum, Laredo, Texas was the least romantic U.S. city, followed by Eureka, Calif., Tucson, Ariz., and, believe it or not, Las Vegas, according to Redbox. Amazon.com put El Monte, Calif., Paterson, N.J. and Miami Gardens, Fla., on its lovers' wall of shame.
