Jeffrey Skilling, former CEO of Enron, was denied temporary release from prison to attend his son's funeral, CNBC reported.

John Taylor "J.T." Skilling was found dead at his home in Santa Ana, California, last week. The cause of the college sophomore's death is undetermined, pending a toxicology report.

Jeffrey Skilling is serving a 24-year prison sentence for his role in the collapse of Enron.

No reason for the denial of his request was given.

J.T. Skilling was buried yesterday, according to Daniel Petrocelli, the attorney representing Jeffrey Skilling.
