77-Year-Old Woman Dies After Riding Disney Carousel

In a quarterly report filed by Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom to state officials in Florida, the park disclosed that a 77-year-old woman died in December after riding the Prince Charming Regal Carrousel.

A second incident on the same ride was also reported. A 71-year-old woman fell and broke a hip and a shoulder after riding the Prince Charming attraction.

In the first incident, Disney says the woman who died had a pre-existing heart condition.

Disneys says in a statement to AOL Travel News, "We were saddened by the passing of one of our guests when she became ill. We again extend our heartfelt condolences to all of her family and friends."

Major theme parks in Florida have a longstanding agreement with the state to report guest injuries on a quarterly basis, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

In the third incident detailed for the 2010 fourth quarter, a 76-year-old woman fell and injured her left leg while on the moving loading platform at Epcot's The Seas with Nemo & Friends.
