Here's a shopping tip that is sure to perk up your Monday. J.Crew's lower-cost Factory Store -- usually found at far-flung outlet malls -- is now online. No more schlepping to the outlet mall to get fantastic prices on J.Crew jeans, cords, dresses, tops and everything else.

There are a number of downsides, however:

  • Many items are final sale, so they are not returnable or exchangeable.

  • You'll save on gas but pay for shipping, unless you hit a minimum or find a coupon.

  • J.Crew Factory items purchased online can only be returned through the mail and at J.Crew Factory stores.

  • Buying online precludes you from seeing the quality of the J.Crew Factory merchandise.

If you can make peace with those four factors, you are ready to shop! I saw dresses from $50-$88, jewelry from $15-$60 and sweaters for $36-$60.
