Consumer Ally's Recall Roundup: Craftsman Air Compressors, Rattles, Dog Treats and More

Here is this week's roundup of recalls:

  • DeVilbiss Air Power Co. recalled about 460,000 air compressors sold under the Craftsman, Porter-Cable, Delta Shopmaster, Husky and its DeVilbiss Impact Series brands after nine reports of the motors overheating, including three cases of them catching fire, said the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. The air compressors were sold at home centers nationwide from January 2003 through December 2004 and at Sears stores nationwide from September 2000 through December 2005. The CPSC lists the model numbers affected by the recall. Consumers should stop using the machines and call DeVilbiss at (866) 220-5627 weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern Time; or Sears at (888) 279-8013, weekdays 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., Eastern, and 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturdays.

  • Sunbeam Products Inc. recalled about 5,700 Convertible Clothes Irons sold exclusively at Bed, Bath and Beyond stores nationwide after 20 reports of the irons overheating or catching fire.

  • The federal government issued a warning about SafetyCraft cribs -- thought to be identical to cribs blamed in the deaths of three infants.
