Keebler Recalls Fudge Shoppe Jumbo Fudge Sticks

keebler recallA packaging mishap has prompted Kellogg's to recall some of its Keebler Fudge Shoppe Jumbo Fudge Sticks sold at convenience stores nationwide because the cartons actually contain individually wrapped Jumbo Peanut Butter Sticks, the company said.

If you are someone who is allergic to peanuts, that could have potentially deadly consequences. Keebler said that so far no allergic reactions have been reported.

Kellogg's Spokesperson Kris Charles told Consumer Ally the peanut butter sticks were "inadvertently placed in the wrong eight-count carton."About 1,7000 cartons were distributed to brokers and convenience stores nationwide. Keebler said the recall affects an eight-count carton of Keebler Fudge Shoppe Jumbo Fudge Sticks marked with the UPC code 3010053332 and a lot code of AS 07 27 1A. The wrapped cookies in the carton are correctly labeled.

Consumers can call the Keebler Consumer Response Center at (888) 746-3679 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern for a replacement.

Nature Valley Dark Chocolate Flavor Granola Thins were recalled last year when peanut butter thins were mistakenly put in the boxes -- and that's not the only product recalled recently because of packaging mishaps. Hostess Brands Inc. recalled some Chocolate Chip Mini Muffins because Banana Nut Mini Muffins were put in the packages instead. McCormick & Co.
