Queen Latifah Rents Jane Fonda's Atlanta Condo
Fonda's 3-bedroom, 3-bath condo in North Atlanta was put on the market for $4.5 million (or $10K a month) about a year ago. On her blog, Fonda writes that she was inspired to create its mauve, womb-like entrance when she appeared in The Vagina Monologues.
Apparently no one took to the look and she lowered the condo's price to $1.95 million. It's still listed with Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby's, but for now, word is it's temporarily occupied.
So what will Queen Latifah be getting?
The 4,700-square-foot, two-story condo became Fonda's home after her split with Ted Turner
Queen Latifah will be living it up in the Atlanta condo with views of downtown and midtown and a host of comforts like two fireplaces, underground parking for four cars and two balconies. The post-modern architecture and track lighting looks a bit dated but the open floor plan makes for a great entertaining space.
"It's the kind of space where I could be happy all alone but could also entertain 70 or more people comfortably...and often did," Fonda writes on her blog. "Lofts are often so cold and angular and I really sought to do the opposite with mine-make it warm, curves and feminine."
Then she goes on to elaborate on her "feminine" inspiration: "The truth is, I was rehearsing to perform in Eve Ensler's The Vagina Monologues at Madison Square Garden in 2000 when I came up with the concept for the womb-like entry."
Now its Queen Latifah's turn to be, er, born again, from Fonda's womb.
