Rumor Alert: Will Zynga's Mafia Wars sequel be called 'Mafia Nation?'

Remember when that strange survey surfaced revealing what looked like the sequel to Mafia Wars. It appears that Zynga has released another set of surveys, but has only changed one thing: it's name. Originally named "Mafia Wars 2: Shadow Nation," Inside Social Games has uncovered two new surveys circulating around the Internet with identical artwork but two different titles: "Mafia Nation" and "Crime Nation."

The surveys ask a short series of simple questions, but also offer participants early access to beta test the game if they provide their e-mail address. While it's unknown why Zynga is referring to the game with so many different names, we imagine the company is simply testing player reception to various titles. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if more names emerged later down the line.

Judging by this extremely early artwork, the game still looks a helluva lot like Crime City by Funzio. And to include "Crime Nation" as a potential title seems just insulting if this game ends up to be a perfected clone of Crime City. Unfortunately, history tends to repeat itself. Regardless of what Zynga calls the game, let's just hope it loses the logo. We've contacted Zynga for comment, so stay tuned for more information.
